Morgan Walker, Mental Health Counselor - Limited Permit

Morgan Walker

Therapy with me is:

Collaborative and Insightful. In therapy, we will work together towards self-discovery.

Outside of the therapy room:

I enjoy spending time with my family, playing tennis, and taking ballet classes.

You may be high achieving and successful in your career, dependable in your relationships, and the person others turn to when they need support—yet still find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or unsure of yourself. From the outside, it may look like you have everything together, but internally you may be overthinking your decisions, struggling with perfectionism, questioning whether you’re on the right path, or wondering why something that once felt right no longer does. These feelings can become especially difficult during periods of transition. You may find yourself putting pressure on yourself to make the “right" decision, worrying about making mistakes, wanting greater confidence, or feeling like you should have it all figured out by now.

Together we can slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and help you reconnect with what matters most to you. My approach to therapy is personalized, structured, and collaborative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy. With CBT, we will identify current thoughts, behaviors, and emotional responses in order to answer questions such as “Is this thought helpful or am I holding myself to an unrealistic standard?”. Psychodynamic work can help us explore how past experiences, relationships, and longstanding patterns may be influencing how you respond in the present moment. Together, these approaches will allow us to address what you are experiencing now while also exploring the deeper patterns that may be contributing to it, so you can develop new ways to respond going forward. In addition to talking through your experiences, I incorporate worksheets, exercises, and between-session assignments when helpful.

I want our work together to feel genuine, comfortable, and human. I enjoy getting to know my clients beyond what brings them into therapy, making them laugh, teaching new skills, and creating a space where you can be yourself. My clinical background and passion for working with adults with high-functioning anxiety ensure that with me, you will develop tools to strengthen boundaries, manage anxiety, reduce self-criticism, navigate imposter syndrome and people-pleasing, and break patterns of overthinking.

Morgan’s approach:

I primarily work with high-achieving adults who are navigating anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, people-pleasing, and major life transitions. My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy, allowing us to explore both what you are experiencing in the present and the deeper experiences, relationships, and beliefs that may be shaping how you respond today. Our work together will be personalized and collaborative, with space to slow down, reflect, laugh, learn practical skills, and explore what truly matters to you.

I have experience working with BIPOC clients, first-generation college students, LGBTQIA+ clients, and new mothers, and I understand that our identities, environments, relationships, and life experiences can shape the way we see ourselves and navigate the world. Having experienced environments where I was the only person of color as well as environments where I was one of many, I value the importance of feeling understood and being able to show up as your full self. My goal is to create a space where you can better understand yourself, build confidence in your decisions, strengthen your relationships and boundaries, and move through life with greater clarity and intention.
