Allie Soss, Licensed Mental Health Counselor - Diagnostic privilege
Allie Soss
Therapy with me is: Open and collaborative. I value your input and work to make therapy feel like a true partnership.
Outside of the therapy room: Spending quality time with my loved ones is always my top priority.
Do you find yourself comparing your life to those of your peers? Do you feel overwhelmed about making the “right” career choices? Do you worry about making other people happy? I specialize in working with college students and young adults in the workforce struggling to cope with anxiety, relationship difficulties, and navigating what it means to become an adult with increased responsibilities, pressures, and decisions. As a bilingual Latinx woman, I know how hard it can be to absorb all of the pressures of the world around you from family, friends, work, and society trying to please everyone all at once and wondering when you’ll be enough.
Whether this is your first time in therapy or a recent stressor in your life has led to a need for increased support, I will work to ensure that you feel heard, understood, and safe. I believe therapy to be a collaborative process where we work together to unite your past and present, and help you to work through your problems towards a healthier, happier future. I place a lot of emphasis on creating a warm and welcoming therapeutic environment to allow you to be your most authentic self.
Through my work with college students and young adults in the workforce, I have been successful in helping clients find relief from painful past experiences and overcome barriers towards meeting their goals. In our work together you will be able to discover new insights about yourself and get to the root of your challenges. My goal is to help you regain control of your life and see long term change.

Allie’s specialties & approach
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to help adults overcome negative self-talk, life transitions, relationship issues, and imposter syndrome and achieve an increased understanding of feelings, emotions, relationships, communication, and self-worth.
By using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy we will be able to:
Learn techniques for coping with stressful life situations
Identify ways to manage emotions
Resolve relationship conflicts and learn better ways to communicate
By using Person-Centered Therapy we will be able to:
Improve your self-awareness and self-concept (the way you see yourself)
Create a greater trust in yourself and your abilities
Create healthier relationships with others based on an improved view and understanding of yourself
By combining these two approaches, I aim to create a collaborative environment within our therapy sessions because I believe you, as the client, have the ability to understand yourself and your concerns and you may just need some assistance in building the tools to manage and overcome them. Together, we will figure out how to build a relationship that will support you in the way that you need. At times I will encourage you to utilize what we discuss in our sessions and to practice these skills in your daily life. This will help you have a better understanding of yourself, and your needs, and how to incorporate these skills to suit you better individually.
Together, we will be able to find comfort and understanding with what you are currently struggling with. You are not alone and the support you need is here.
