Caroline Goodhines, Mental Health Counselor - Limited Permit

Caroline Goodhines

Therapy with me is:

Honest and collaborative. I bring warmth and humor into the room and aim to make therapy feel real and supportive.

Outside of the therapy room:

I love spending time with loved ones, keeping up with pop culture, and watching reality TV.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by pregnancy, the postpartum period, or the transition into parenthood? Are guilt, frustration, or intrusive worries about your baby affecting your sleep, relationships, or ability to care for yourself? Do you find yourself reacting in ways that don’t align with the parent you want to be, or feeling consumed by guilt after hard moments with your child? Are differences in parenting styles, communication, or emotional labor creating tension in your relationship? If this season feels heavier or more isolating than you expected, you deserve support that takes your experience seriously.

My goal is to help you understand what’s underneath the frustration, guilt, or disconnection you may be experiencing and to leave therapy with a clearer sense of yourself, stronger emotional self-management, and practical tools for parenting and partnership. Together, we work toward responses that feel more grounded, intentional, and aligned with your values, rather than driven by overwhelm or self-blame.

If you’re feeling stuck or alone and wondering if therapy could help, I invite you to reach out.

I work with individuals and couples from conception through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. Much of my work centers on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including postpartum anxiety, depression, and intrusive thoughts, as well as birth trauma, pregnancy and infant loss, and the emotional and relational shifts that come with becoming a parent. I work with all parents and pregnant people across varying family configurations, including LGBTQIA+ families and those living with chronic illness or disability.

My work is grounded in narrative and psychodynamic therapy. In practice, this means slowing down and examining together how past experiences, patterns, and beliefs show up in your daily life and relationships, particularly during times of transition or heightened stress. My approach to therapy is informed by specialized training in perinatal wellness, child development, and disability studies and is rooted in trauma-informed, identity-affirming care.

Caroline is an in network provider with all New York state Aetna plans, all New York State BCBS and Carelon plans, and an approved out of network provider for all other commercial healthcare plans.
